Once in a while, the sports talking heads on the radio say something poignant; this morning someone voiced that this would be Derek Jeter’s last Opening Day in MLB. A Yankee his whole career. I feared him every time he came up to the plate against the Red Sox. I will savor his final season, and wish that he stays healthy for his 2014 tour of the big leagues. I have realized that I have a profound respect for the emotions he raised in me, his talent, his poise, his longevity and his competitiveness.
How lucky are we to have been able to enjoy and fear him during our lifetime?
