That was a long weekend. The Mets took 2 games out of 3 at Chavez Ravine. The Mets record is 42-41. The Dodgers are 46-37. Wilmer Flores and Rookie left handed pitcher Stephen Matz were the MVP’s. Sunday was Matz’ first appearance at Dodger stadium in only his second MLB game. He pitched a PEARLER. Plunking Adrian Gonzalez in the first inning and holding the Dodgers to 2 hits. Dodger left fielder Scott Van Slyke stole a base. That was about all the excitement until Kike Hernandez did a somersault flip throw to second, in which the Met runner was called safe by a mile.Mets fans in attendance were LOUD and proud as expected, and more evident as the home crowd thinned out after the 7th inning.
Final score 8-0. Mets.
